How many emergency response officers does my company actually need?

Team Omnibus Academy28 April 20264 min read

Many employers think that a fixed number of BHV officers per employee is mandatory. That is not correct: the Arbowet (Working Conditions Act) requires 'effective' in-house emergency response, tailored to the risks.

The correct number of BHV officers follows from your RI&E. Factors include the nature of the work, the size and layout of the building, opening hours and the presence of visitors.

Also take holidays, shift work and absenteeism into account, so that there are always enough trained BHV officers present.
